And you can always respect into axes for example if you like CB (Kingslayer) and Beast. Maces will also allow you to have beast runeword later on and Black is good enough even for late hell if you have an elite mace. If you want it early on then go for maces and get yourself two Black hammers or flails o morning stars. If you want to dual wield you will have to make a simple choice - how fast do you want crushing blow. Spears are good early on but later they will suffer from runeword shortage - best ones are often for polearms specifically. Axes and swords are also good but have range of 1/2 and not 3/4. Then pick a weapon of choice - possibly a polearm because they give you range and damage and good runewords as well. If you use single weapon - a two handed weapon or one-handed with shield (except why, if concentrate boosts defense?) pick concentrate.
So now after this long introduction to the builds. Very useful if you play like I do - single player unmodded. I play with basic skills but I use plenty of warcries to manage monsters. I don't like it because I like to mix up my skills and frenzy doesn't allow it much like WW. It only makes sense if you use the skill as intended that is right-click and keep the button pressed and just drag the cursor - barb with auto-target.
Frenzy doesn't offer weapon speed over double swing until you get it somewhere around lvl 10 but the first attack is always slower and the price is the idiotic, unmanageable movement speed. I don't like frenzy for the same reason why I don't like WW - it offers less control and feels "spammy". Single weapon uses concentrate and bash for synergies.
Dual wielding barb uses double swing and bash for synergies. One is a dual-wielding and the other is single weapon. I don't like whirlwind for subjective reasons (playstyle) so I think there are two good builds for a barb.
